2018 Atlanta Conference

Dates: March 15 - 17, 2018

Theme: Proficiency: ATL (ALL THE LEVELS)

Location: Atlanta, GA  For this year's conference we  are excited to partner with FLAG  and SEALLT to offer you a dynamic program! Please check this site regularly for updates.

SESSION PROPOSAL PERIOD: Click here to access the session proposal form. Proposals will be accepted from March 20 - September 1. The proposal form is for 50 minute sessions only. SCOLT, FLAG, and SEALLT will each be sponsoring 3 hour pre-conference workshops on Thursday, March 15. Each association will reach out to prospective workshop facilitators. 

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: Early registration will commence on or around September 15. Current SCOLT W-9 if needed.

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS: Thursday, March 15 will feature three hour ($30 each) and full day workshops ($60 each). Check back in September for an overview and description of all pre-conference workshops.

SESSIONS OVERVIEW: Friday and Saturday will feature more than 150 concurrent sessions, exhibitors and opportunities for you to meet the ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year and find out who will be the 2018 SCOLT World Languages Teacher of the Year. Registration includes continental breakfast on Friday and Saturday as well as Friday lunch. 

SESSIONS AT A GLANCE: Once the schedule has been set, you can return here and start planning your conference experience by reviewing the Sessions at a Glance schedule for both Friday and Saturday. This should be posted by January 2018.

Registration rates are as follows:

  • $150 Early Bird Registration (through February14, 2018)
  • $175 ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY (February 15 - 28, 2018)
  • $125 Presenters Rate (through November 1, 2017)
  • $125 SCOLT Sponsor/Patron Rate (through February 28, 2018)
  • $75 FULL TIME undergraduate student (must provide documentation) - professors who wish to register several students should check with the Executive Director
  • $200 Onsite Registration 
  • $100 Saturday only registration
  • $100 FULL TIME undergraduate student onsite rate (must provide documentation)

CONFERENCE HOTEL:  The Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel is located near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - complimentary shuttle service is provided from the airport directly to the hotel around the clock. By staying at the conference hotel you help ensure we obtain the best arrangements with the hotel regarding meeting space and food/beverage for our event. Staying at the conference hotel is a great way to support SCOLT! In addition, FREE SELF-PARKING available for all attendees! We have sold out our block the past three years, so be sure to make your reservations early. A link to the online reservation form will be provided in September.

SCOLT SPONSORS AND PATRONS BUSINESS MEETING AND RECEPTION: This Friday evening event has quickly become THE networking highlight for our valued Sponsors and Patrons. Check back frequently to find out where out 2018 event will take place. If the location is offsite, transportation will be provided. Be sure to become a Sponsor/Patron or renew your membership when you register for the conference.

PROGRAM COVER CONTEST: We are pleased to once again sponsor a program cover contest so that your students can become involved in the event. The deadline to submit was Friday, November 11, 2017.
